Cuckstool Cottage offers you the perfect retreat on the edge of the bustling village of Denby Dale. It has far-reaching views across the village cricket ground & bowling green. There is so much to do in this area, both for adults and children.
Denby Dale offers a wide range of specialist shops, several places to eat & a whole host of amenities at your fingertips. This is a rambler’s paradise with wonderful countryside or woodland walks straight from your door. We leave lots of information in the cottage so you can make the most of your time here
Cuckstool cottage is well equipped & comfortable. There’s a well-appointed dining kitchen with oven, microwave, fridge-freezer, washing machine and dishwasher. The spacious lounge has exposed stonework and beams & an electric 'stove'. There’s a TV in here, plus DVDs, games and books for your use.
Upstairs you will find a light and airy double bedroom with far reaching views across the valley, a twin room & a third bedroom with a single bed (sleeps 5 in total) The flexible accommodation makes it ideal for two couples travelling together or a family.
There is room for the travel cot in the larger two bedrooms, & we can also provide a high-chair/booster seat.
The bathroom has a full size bath with shower over, loo & basin.
Cuckstool Cottage has gas central heating and rental rates include all utilities, bed linen and towels. (Please bring own cot linen) We also leave a complimentary Welcome Pack for you, which includes tea, coffee, sugar, along with some useful household items, and a bottle of wine (for stays of 7 nights or more)
Small dogs welcome: £15 extra charge per stay.

The range of activities in this area is simply amazing. Golf, swimming, watersports are within 5-15 minutes drive. Holmfirth of Summer Wine fame is just 10 minutes away- have a cup of tea at Sid's Café or visit Nora Batty's house! Cannon Hall Country Park & Open farm are a must for the children, The National Coal Mining Museum is a short drive away & is FREE, including the underground tours. Cuckstool cottage also has a small fully enclosed garden, with patio furniture and a BBQ for your use. It’s a great spot for relaxing, perhaps watching a cricket or bowling match. there is off-street parking. We look forward to welcoming you to this little gem!

Sometimes given the nickname of “God’s Own County” thanks to its lush green countryside and wild expanses of moor land, Yorkshire is the largest county in England. It is home to over 800 attractions, from breweries to museums, castles to zoos, and World Heritage Sites to breathtaking rides. There are many popular seaside resorts along its coastline, including Whitby, Bridlington and Scarborough, as well as quieter villages and working harbours nestled among the rugged cliffs. The North York Moors, the Yorkshire Dales and part of the Peak District National Park offer wonderful opportunities for walkers, cyclists and climbers, as well as nature reserves for bird spotters and naturalists. The North Yorkshire Moors Railway carries more passengers than any other heritage railway in the UK and the National Railway Museum is to be found in the county capital city, York.
